What a Week!

So my Monday started out with my husband in excruciating pain! We ended up in the Emergency Room at IMC, which was less than impressive. To make a long story short, his spleen was bleeding but, was fine. His body healed itself over the week and he is about 75% back to normal. He had never been in the hospital before or had an IV so of course I had to take pictures.

Well, last week my mom broke her foot and hurt her shoulder (again). She was doing a little better until she went to go pick up Kade from Tara's for me since Joe and I were taking longer than expected at the hospital. When she was walking into Tara's house she fell and tore her miniscus (?) and hurt her shoulder (again)!! To make this long story short, she was in the hospital for 24 hours and she is now living with the West's for long-term all day care. She goes for surgical consultation(s) next week. To make this long story short her shoulder doctor doesn't do legs, her knee doctor doesn't do feet or shoulders, and her foot doctors doesn't do knees or shoulders! WOW - 3 SURGERIES!! My poor maj...

Lastly, my sweet BFF grandpa Earl is very sick. He takes blood thinners and has sustained several falls over the last week or so. His last fall landed him in the ICU of St. Marks covered in bruises and struggling to remember things. They said he suffered multiple traumatic brain injuries and is not doing very well mentally but, he still has his sense of humor. His eyes looked a little better today than they did last night but, I just don't know that he will get better. He is 79 years old and has lived to see a lot of things. He made it to my wedding and stayed for the whole thing. This meant so much to me and I will never forget what he whispered in my ear on that day. He told me, "You deserve Joe and he needs you. He is the only man I have ever met than compares to me - I am talking about looks here!! Make sure you tell him you love him everyday and remember that you are the most beautiful woman in the world, next to grandma!" It was the sweetest thing ever... My grandma and grandpa are more than husband and wife, they are truly best friends. I can only hope that Joe and I stay as close as them!!
